Our Mission

Catholic Campus Ministry and the Catholic Newman Club at Kean University work to bring the Catholic faith to students, faculty, and staff members through worship, prayer, education, service, and social activities. ​

 

What We Do

We offer a wide variety of events, including Bible studies, Holy Day Masses, service projects, Catholic Newman Club meetings, retreats, Archdiocesan events, guest speakers, social programs, and more.

What We Do… Week to Week What We Do… Throughout the Liturgical Year

  • Bible Studies

  • Newman Meetings & “Catholic Chats” on various faith topics

  • Sacrament of Reconciliation

  • Collaboration with other student organizations and university offices on spiritual or social programming

  • Opportunities for prayer: Rosary groups, Eucharistic Adoration, Mass, and more varying each week and month

  • Preparing for Christmas: Advent talks and wreath lighting, holiday movies, holiday service opportunities, and end-of-semester activities

  • The Season of Lent: Ash Wednesday Masses, guidance on Lenten fasting and keeping Lenten promises, “meatless Friday” meals, preparation for celebrating Holy Week and Easter

  • Special days throughout the year: Palm Sunday cross making, Saint Feast Day and Holy Day celebrations
