All are welcome to join us for the Thomistic Institute at Kean’s first lecture of the year! Tuesday, September 22nd, at 7:30pm in the VISER Lab (located in the Nancy Thompson Learning Commons), we welcome Fr. Adrian Patrick McCaffery O.P.

Fr. McCaffery will be presenting to us his lecture, “Why Hell Has Rules: Dante’s Grammer of Getting What You Wanted.” Following the lecture, we will have a formal dinner for lecture attendees.

This event is open to the public, so all students, staff, faculty, and friends of the ministry are welcome to join us for the evening! If you are from outside of the Kean community and are bringing a group, please let us know in advance so we can accomodate you.

Fr. Adrian Patrick McCaffery, O.P., is a friar of the Province of St. Albert the Great. He completed his doctorate in Philosophy in 2024 under Eleonore Stump at Saint Louis University, focusing on the metaphysics of God and Aquinas’s doctrine of divine simplicity. At present, he is a Professor of Philosophy at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome, where he teaches metaphysics, philosophical anthropology, aesthetics, and the classical languages. His research primarily engages Aquinas’s philosophical theology in dialogue with analytic philosophy, and he is also overseeing the collection of Fr. Lawrence Dewan’s complete essays for a multivolume set. In addition, he serves as an editor for the Angelicum journal.
