Visio Divina: Praying with Art (Holy Week)

Catholic Campus Ministry invites you to learn about the practice of "sacred seeing," or visio divina.

On March 27 at 6:30PM in VISER in the library, all are welcome to learn and join in on our session of how art can aid your prayer life.

What is the Visio Divina?

Latin for, "sacred seeing," visio divina is an ancient form of Christian prayer in which we allow our hearts and imaginations to enter into a sacred image, in silence, to see what God might have to say to us. This practice involves being receptive to contemplative silence, reflecting on biblical stories or accounts depicted, and praying to hear God's call and message. It uses artwork as a tool for reflection. If anyone feels called, they can share with the group their thought on the artwork and the feelings evoked from it.

Questions can be directed to Campus Minister Lucia at lpasternak@kean.edu. You can also stay up to date on our events and programs by following @KeanCatholics on Instagram.
